Ore Crusher Mountain Bike Race

The 2K10 Orecrusher XC is a lemans-style start, multi-lap classic XC through the Cheekeye Fan single-track trails of Brackendale. The Orecrusher is race one of the "Hell of a Series" which also includes the North Shore Bike Fest (June 5), the Test of Metal (June 19), the Gearjammer (July 24), and Just Another Bike Race (August 21)

Racers will position their bike in the designate area, and then marshal at the Start/Finish area. A lemans start entails racers running from the Start area to their bikes, approximately 250 metres away. You then retrieve your bike, mount-up and proceed onto the race course. Racers will ride a set number of laps of the approximately 6 Km loop of single-track trails and return to the race venue. Each category will race a pre-determined number of laps. On your last lap, you will divert towards the Finish line to the cheers and adulation of friends and family!

The main focus of the event is to fund raise for the Don Ross Secondary School Outdoor Leadership Program. Previously known as the Pre-Test XC, the event continues to evolve into an even bigger contributor to the local mountain bike scene. But retains its original purpose as a fundraiser to offset the extra-curricular costs of the Don Ross Secondary School’s Outdoor Leadership program.
